With over 30 years experience as a photographer, Simon Freeman Photography has the capacity to deliver a wealth of creative solutions and expertise to his clients.

Simon was a serving member of the Royal Australian Navy (RAN) for nine years and was trained in Photography at the Royal Australian Air Force School of Photography. Simon was DUX of his course Certificate IV in Photo Imaging. After five years as a Navy stills photographer based at various locations around Australia, Simon was selected to join the RAN Video Production Unit and underwent further training in video production and sound recording at the Australian Film and Television School. Simon left the RAN in 1987 to pursue a freelance photography career. 

Being among the first in Australia to embrace high end digital imaging in 1998, Simon has developed integrated workflows and digital asset management (DAM) procedures that are vital for complex image libraries. He has delivered extensive stills and video libraries for Transport for NSW, RMS Motorway Development Projects, Sydney Trains, Sydney Light Rail, Parramatta Light Rail, NSW TrainLink, Harbour City Ferries, Broadspectrum (Transfield Services), ACoR, APP Corporation and ARTC. 

Simon also has wide-ranging experience working in regional Australia through the creation of comprehensive photographic and video libraries for GrainCorp, National Livestock Identification Service (NLIS), Meat and Livestock Australia (MLA) and Australian Meat & Livestock USA. 

In addition to work on construction, roads, power, water, rail and rail infrastructure projects around Australia, Simon has photographed heavy industry around the world including mainland USA, Alaska, Canada and the Middle East. These projects included photographic and video services for infrastructure, gas and oil refineries, and mine sites. As a professional photographer, Simon has always considered it his business to stay abreast of technology, and is now including Drone and 360 technology into his industrial space.

Simon Freeman Photography is highly regarded for experience, quality, reliability, and the capacity to communicate clearly and work with little supervision. Simon regularly organises all aspects of logistically complex shoots, often to multiple locations across several states and countries. 

Simon Freeman Photography uses the latest Canon cameras and lenses for stills photography and Sony 4K video cameras. Simon Freeman is a member of Canon Professional Services which provides express repairs and loan equipment during the repair process.

Simon Freeman has undergone Drone operator training and has a CASA approved Remote Pilot operators license (RePL). Simon Freeman Photography is in the process of obtaining the CASA approved RPA Operator Certificate (ReOC) license to operate drones for commercial photography and video, this is expected to be approved by end of 2019.

Simon Freeman Photography deploys Solar/AC powered Time lapse systems working on the 4G network. Controlled online with the capacity to change shooting frequency and calendar. Images are uploaded to a password secure web gallery in real time. The camera systems are useable for short and long term projects. 

Simon Freeman Photography has two  4K edit suites with the latest photo & video editing software. Four 20TB RAID 6 Thunderbolt 3 hard drives for editing a 13 bay and 9 bay Synology RAID 6 NAS systems for the highest possible level of redundancy storage and internet access. A second back up is to cloud based storage and a third is offsite.
